“What should have been a safe 30 minute train ride home turned into a scary hour long ordeal.”
I got out of my restaurant job in the Lower East Side at 1AM last night and saw this man when I was entering the station. I walked to the end of the platform and waited for the train. About 5 minutes later he walked past me and stood about 10 feet away, waiting. 2 minutes later, he was standing directly behind me. I walked 5 feet to the left and he didn’t move from where he was, but as soon as the train started pulling in, I walked as quickly as I could away from him. I got in 2 train cars away from where I had originally been waiting, and noticed that he had hurried to make it into the same one. Once I sat down, he sat a few seats away, then immediately got up and sat across from me, which is when I took this photo. I decided to get off at the next stop and just take a cab home, planning to start screaming if he got off too, but he did not. What should have been a safe 30 minute train ride home in the middle of the night after a long shift, turned into a scary hour long ordeal.
